The Port of Rosslare, or Rosslare-Europort is the port in southern Ireland closest to the UK and European mainland.
Rosslare is the original holiday resort in Wexford and is famous for its warm Irish welcome from people with a strong tradition in hospitality.
Rosslare, which is popular for quiet weekend breaks, mid-week breaks or annual summer holidays, is located five miles from Rosslare-Europort and 10 miles from the town of Wexford.
Rosslare Europort is a modern seaport located at Rosslare Harbour in County Wexford, at the southeasternmost point of Ireland's coastline, handling passenger and freight ferries to and from the United Kingdom and France.
The port, formerly called Rosslare Harbour, is operated by Iarnród Éireann, Ireland's national railway operator, which provides direct services to Limerick and Dublin -- see rail transport in Ireland.
Passenger ferries operate to and from Fishguard and Pembroke Dock in the UK as well as Cherbourg and Roscoff in France.
