The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is a unitary authority in Berkshire, South East England. It became a unitary authority on April 1, 1998.


It is home to Windsor Castle and Legoland.


The borough was formed in 1974 from the Royal Borough of New Windsor, the borough of Maidenhead, Eton urban district, Cookham rural district and part of Eton rural district.
