The Royal Victoria Regiment is the infantry regiment of 4 Brigade, the Australian Army Reserve brigade of Victoria. It consists of two battalions, the 5th/6th and 8th/7th Battalions (abreviated as 5/6 RVR and 8/7 RVR repectively). While 5/6 has its units situated in the metropolitan area of the state's capital, Melbourne, 8/7's units are in the country.
