The branch line linked to the Melton Mowbray to Oakham main line at Ashwell Station. Exchange sidings were once located at the Museum serving three separate private quarry railway systems associated with the past extraction of iron ore.     • Sentinel 0-4-0VBT No 7. In service after a succesful visit from the bouiler inspector, boiler ticket expires in 2017.
    • Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No 1931 "BSC No 2 built in 1927. Nearing the end of its restoration, the frames are finished and so is the cab which is on the frames and the saddle tank is also finished, the boiler should be back from repair in a month or so, planned completion is later this year.
    • Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No 2088 "Sir Thomas Royden" built in 1940. Almost finished, the boiler has been inspected and is back in the frames, the saddle tank should be fitted soon. Planned to be complete this year.

Rutland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (582 words)
Rutland is traditionally England's smallest county and is bounded on the west and north by Leicestershire, northeast by Lincolnshire, and southeast by Northamptonshire.
At the centre of the county is a large reservoir, Rutland Water, with a similar surface area to Lake Windermere, which is an important nature reserve, serving as an overwintering site for wildfowl and a breeding site for Ospreys.
The north-western part of the county was recorded as Rutland, a detached part of Nottinghamshire, in the Domesday Book; the south-eastern part as the wapentake of Wicelsea in Northamptonshire.
