The resolution that is suggested by SCJamir apparently is going to be based on the same premise of "Naga-inhabited areas" and it is at this point that the matter needs to be clarified.
SCJamir has to realize that Manipur is a multi-ethnic society and any move to incite further troubles and chaos is not welcome.
SCJamir should not use this issue for his own political gains, because it is a dangerous precedent and does not bode well for state-to-state relations.
Jamir said a team of delegations authorised by the NPC assembled at Dimapur for proceeding to Delhi.
So the period was extended, Jamir stated, adding that finally the committee had reported to the NPC in the month of December, 1958.
Jamir also said at that time, two views emerged, one was they should go ahead with the political settlement and the other was to act as a bridge between the government of India and the Naga underground.
