The SEAT Malaga, a four-door saloon, was launched in 1987 as a booted version of the hatchback. It was spacious and economical, but let down by heavy steering and flimsy build quality. Production ended in 1990 after Volkswagen took over SEAT. A rare sight in the UK, but sold relatively well in Spain. There was no direct successor for the Malaga, as the next Ibiza-based saloon (the Cordoba) was not launched until 1993.
