SIC - Sociedade Independente de Comunicação is Portugal's third terrestrial television station. Launched on October 6, 1992. SIC also operates several other channels carried on satellite and cable TV in Portugal such as SIC Notícias (News channel), SIC Radical (for the youth), SIC Mulher (programmes mostly for women) and an international channel, SIC Internacional, which broadcasts in Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Australia.
