SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (725 words)
SOCOM was released on August 27, 2002, and is one of the earliest online titles available for the PS2's online adapter.
SOCOM additionally uses a USB headset for its speech recoginition commands offline, and allows voice chat with teammates when playing online, this was the first game for the PS2 to use the headset.
SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs released 2005, included solely original maps, updated SOCOM II maps are slated to be released in March of 2006 for download and purchase[1].
GamingWorld X - SOCOM 2: U.S. Navy SEALs Review (2085 words)
SOCOM 2 is home to a lot of night maps, some of them brand new, and others are nighttime variations of some of the old maps from the first game.
Ironically though, SOCOM 2, while fixing everything wrong with the first game, doesn’t do anything to really tread any new ground, almost as if the team dedicated themselves to getting right everything players felt was wrong with the first game, and then re-releasing the game with some updated features.
SOCOM 2 rocks; it’s just not the mammoth leap forward we were hoping for.
