Sagamihara (Japanese: 相模原市; -shi) is a city located in Kanagawa, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 620,086 and the density of 6,858.60 persons per km².
The main areas of commercial activity in Sagamihara are located around the train stations JR Sagamihara and JR Hashimoto on the JR Yokohama line, and Odakyu Sagami-ÅŒno on the OdakyuOdawara line.
A hookup is also available to use water from SagamiharaCity in an emergency, officials said.
Because it is near the boiler plant, a break there could also affect a large number of houses farther away on the system, he said.
Officials announced this spring that 115 multiplex housing units, including 52 at Sagamihara, would be demolished this year, then replaced with 107 new units.
