The Saint John Sea Dogs are a major junior hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League which started play in the fall of 2005. The team is based out of Saint John, New Brunswick. The team plays its home games at Harbour Station, which has a capacity of 6,701 spectators. The Sea Dogs filled the void left by the departure of the American Hockey League's Saint John Flames. Saint John is the largest city in the province of New Brunswick and the oldest incorporated city in Canada.
Saint John became the province's leading industrial centre during the 19th century, fostering a shipbuilding trade that lasted until 2002, in addition to being a major forestry and manufacturing centre.
