Sakon Nakhon is a town in Thailand within the Isan province and capital city of the Sakon Nakhon province. The city has a population of approx. 76,000. It has a reginal airport in the North (SNO).


The biggest lake of north-east Thailand is situated North of the city: Nong Han.
