Salman Raduyev (or Raduev, Russian: Салман Радуев; February 13, 1967December 14, 2002) was a Chechen rebel leader. In June of 1992 was appointed the prefect of Gudermes by Dzhokhar Dudaev. On December 14, 1995 with Sultan Geliskhanov he recaptured Grozny and on January 9, 1996 with Gelishanov launched an attack on Kizlyar. Raduev was considered to substitute a wounded field commander Hunkarpasha Israpilov at the end of attack. In summer of 1996 Raduev refused the offers of Zelimkhan Yandarbiev to stop the terroristic struggle. Raduyev was captured in March 2000 by Russian special operations unit Vympel (i.e. the Directorate "V" of the TsSN FSB). He died in his prison. Salman Raduyev (or Raduev; Russian: Салма́н Раду́ев; February 13, 1967–December 14, 2002) was a rogue Chechen warlord.
Raduyev was tried on multiple murder charges and, in December of 2001, was sentenced to life in prison.
On December 14, 2002, Salman Raduyev died in a penal colony from internal bleeding.
