Encyclopedia > Sam Solovey

Sam Solovey was a contestant on Donald Trump's The Apprentice. His erratic behavior and his infamous "stare" he gave after his firing made him one of the most talked-about contestants on the show.

On the night of the finale, Solovey offered Trump a briefcase of $250,000 if Trump would hire him. Trump was later quoted as saying "It was a brilliant move. We'll certainly consider Sam's offer." [1] (http://www.tvguide.com/news/entertainment/040416.asp) Ultimately, Solovey was not offered a job with Trump, but it was later revealed that Solovey earned an undisclosed amount from Samsonite for advertising their briefcases (Solovey had mentioned that the money was "...in this Samsonite briefcase" when he made the offer to Trump) on a night which averaged over 28 million viewers.
