Samstock Music Festival has been running since the year 2000 in the South Island of New Zealand. It started with five students who liked music and who didn't like the lack of good music events in New Zealand. Originally they tried to make money for a friend who was going on a missions trip. Since 2000 the festival has been run every year except 2001. Several hundred people currently attend the festival every year and about 20 artists are got every year also.


Since 2002 the festival has been run under the umbrella of Youth for Christ in New Zealand. Youth for Christ is an international Christian ministry program that promotes youth evangelism and biblical Christianity. ...


Latest Festival

The latest festival was held on September 24th - 26th 2004 at the Mosgiel A&P Showgrounds in Dunedin, New Zealand. About 600 young people attended and about 20 artists. Samstock 2005 is being held at Mosgiel again, but on 23rd-25th September. Bands to watch out for this year are MOPED, ALABASTER BOX, RAPTURE RUCKUS, MEPHYMOLOGY and heaps more. Samstock has seen a bit of a make-over, and there is heaps more to do this year. Check out www.samstock.org.nz for more details. You don't want to miss out.
