Encyclopedia > Sands End

Sands End lies in the southernmost part of the Hammersmith and Fulham borough of London, England. Along the banks of the Thames lies Hurlingham Retail Park, which houses Currys and PC World.

There is also a business enterprise centre in the Sullivan region. Across the other side of Townmead Road there is a large Sainsbury's, and currently there is the Imperial Wharf development, which will be a mixture of affordable housing, both private and public, shops, a park, and a new station, linking Clapham Junction with Willesden Junction via Kensington (Olympia). The station is tentatively called Imperial Wharf and is due to open September 2005.

Also set in this vibrant part of Fulham is both Hurlingham Park and South Park. Wandsworth Bridge Road runs through the centre of Sands End and itself boasts some lovely restaurants, as well as some upmarket pine shops.
