Sanma Akashiya (明石家さんま Akashiya Sanma, born July 3, 1955 in Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture, raised up in Nara) is a Japanese TV comedian and actor. His real name is Takafumi Sugimoto (杉本高文 Sugimoto Takafumi). He is a member of Yoshimoto Corporation. He is one of the big 3 entertainers in Japan which also include Beat Takeshi (Takeshi Kitano) and Tamori (Kazuyoshi Morita).
