Location

Sapperton Station is located along Brunette Avenue, above a Canadian Pacific right-of-way, on the shores of the Fraser River. It is connected to ground level by a walkway leading to Keary Street near the Royal Columbian Hospital. This region of New Westminster is known as Sapperton. History

The station was built in 2002 as part of the Millennium Line. Before the Millennium Line was complete, a short spur from Columbia Station was opened in eastern New Westminster, as a test track; this spur included the stations of Sapperton and Braid. 2002 (MMII) was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar. ... All the stations along the Millennium Line have unique design, and Sapperton is no different. This elevated station contains a mezzanine level above a platform level. There are two side platforms, separated by a large spinning artwork wheel. Phases of the moon and amusing stick people painted onto the surface animate if someone on the mezzanine level above is pedaling a exercise bike connected to the wheel. This bike faces windows looking over the platform level between the elevators.
