The Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre is a 5,300-seat multi-purpose arena in Sarnia, OntarioCanada. It was built in 1998. It is home to the Sarnia StingIce hockeyteam. The SarniaArena was built in 1948 and is the definition of the old community barn.
When the SSEC was finished, the SarniaArena went back to its position as an old-style community rink, home to minor hockey and Junior B. From the outside the Arena is a big-looking building with a high-arched ceiling.
The SarniaArena is still used by the junior "B" Sarnia Blast (formerly the Sarnia Bees, formerly the Sarnia Steeplejacks, formerly the Sarnia Steeplejack Bees).

The early growth of Sarnia was stimulated by the wealth of adjoining stands of timber, by the discovery of oil nearby and by the arrival of The Great Western Railway in 1858 and the Grand Trunk Railway in 1859.
Sarnia became a prominent deep water port during the 1920s when many of the shipping facilities that exist today were constructed, including the winter harbour, the elevator slip and the large grain elevators.
