The North SaskatchewanRiver (French: rivière Saskatchewan Nord) is a glacier-fed river flowing east from the Canadian Rockies to central Saskatchewan.
The river begins above 1,800 metres at the toe of the SaskatchewanGlacier in the Columbia Icefield, and flows southeast through Banff National Park alongside the Icefields Parkway.
From the Saskatchewan boundary, the river flows southeast past North Battleford and on towards Saskatoon.
The population of Moose Jaw grew from 1,500 to 14,000 and Regina grew from 2,300 to 30,000.
