Satun (Thai สตูล) is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand.
Satun is one of the four provinces of Thailand which have a Muslim majority: 67.8% are Muslim, only 31.9% are Buddhists.
Malay Muslims in Satun are substantially assimilated and rarely claim separatism from Thailand compared to the Malay muslims in Pattani, Narathiwat and Yala.
Satun has a population of 269,397 (134,900 males and 134,497 females) of which 67.8 % are Muslims, 31.9% are Buddhists whereas 0.30% are Christians and others.
Satun consists of 6 districts (Amphoe), one sub- district (King Amphoe) : Amphoe Muang Satun, La-ngu, Thung Wa, Khuan Kalong, Khuan Done, Tha Phae and King Amphoe Manang.
Satun is connected with neibouring provinces and Malaysia by highways.
