Satyawati College is a state-run[1] tertiary college founded in 1972[2] in New Delhi affiliated to the University of Delhi. It has two shifts morning and evening educating about 2000 students[3] with a permanent teaching staff of around 150. It offers degrees in Commerce, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Sanskrit, and Urdu. Economics and Commerce are the two most popular courses offered. But the standard of the faculty in all departments is declining with every new appointment. The college, however, says the future of 395 students is in the dark as they have to either repeat a paper or in some cases a whole year because of the University's "mistrust'' in teachers.
While the college admits that it had made the mistake of not tallying the final marks with their manual records, it adds that the University should stop changing the marks of students without a strong basis.
