Saugerties was the home of the second Woodstock Music Festival, in 1994, following on the footsteps of the original Woodstock Festival (which it should be noted was actually held in Bethel, New York) of 1969.

The new HITS headquarters is located in the Historic District of the Village of Saugerties just a few miles from Woodstock where the 1994 rock concert was held.
