Schlock is a 1972 film, loosely based on a "King Kong" storyline about a gigantic ape. It was directed by John Landis, and starred make-up artist Rick Baker as the gorilla. Though the film was done on a terribly low budget and lacks quality, Rick Baker's performance was noted by producer Dino DeLaurentiis, who casted Baker for the role of the authentic Giant Ape in DeLaurentiis' remake of "King Kong"
