Świdnica (GermanSchweidnitz) is a town in southwestern Poland. According to the 2004 estimate the town has a total population of 60,674. Situated in the Lower Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Wałbrzych Voivodship (1975-1998). It's the 7th largest town of that unit of administrative division.

The "PSlerei of Schweidnitz" is the name given to the riotous revolt of the town, in 1520-1522, against a royal edict depriving it of the right of coining its own money.
