The Secon Serbian uprising (Други српски устанак) The second Serbian uprising is part of Serbian Revolution. It lasted for three a year(1815.-1817.),but there were a less of battles,and more negotiations. After failure of The First Serbian uprising,many commanders escaped to Habsburg Monarchy. Karadjordje,the leader of First Serbian uprising also escaped with his family,and there was just a few commanders who remained in Serbia. Milos Obrenovic surrender to Turks,and he got a title of "obor-knez".Stanoje Glavas also surrendered to Turks,and they procalmed him for supervisor of a road,but he was suspicious to Turks,and they killed him. Hadzi-Prodan Gligorijevic knew that Turks will arrest him,and he declared a revolt(Hadzi-Prodan's Revolt,1814.). Milos considered that is not a right time for uprising,so he didn't help him. Hadzi-Prodan's revolt soon failed,and he was forced to escape to Austria. After failure of this revolt,Turks started even worst terror against Serbs. They were taking very high taxes,forced people to labor,and ravished women and girls. In March 1815, a lot of Serbs had several meetings and decided to declare a new revolt. Finally, on 23rd April 1815,on national council,it was decided of proclaiming a revolt. Milos Obrenovic was choosen for leader,and in that moment he spoke words,which became famous:"Here I am, and here you are a war against Turks.". When Turks foun out for a new revolt they signed order for killing all leaders,and final destruction of any revolt. Soon, Serbs have conquered whole Belgrade pasaluk,in battles at Ljubic,Cacak,Palez,Pozarevac and Dublje.In summer 1815. started the first negotiations between Milos and Marasli-pasa. Milos Obrenovic was wise and clever diplomat,so he managed to get some sort of half-autonomy for Serbs,and later 1816, Turkish parliament known as Porta signed several documents for reducing relations between Serbs and Turks. Finally,in 1817,Milos succseded to force Marasli-pasa negotiate an unwritten agreement,and with this The Second Serbian uprising was finished. The same year Karadjordje,the leader of first uprising came back to Serbia,and he was assasined by Milos' prescription. Also Milos got a title of a hereable prince. by Mladen Stevanovic |
