The United States Secretary of Energy is the head of the United States Department of Energy, concerned as the name suggests, with energy production and regulation. The Secretary is a member of the President'sCabinet.
The Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB) was chartered in January 1990 to provide the Secretary with timely, balanced, external advice on issues of importance to the Secretary.
The mission of the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board is to provide advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on the Department's basic and applied research activities, economic and national security policy, educational issues, laboratory management, and activities and operations of the Department of Energy as the Secretary may direct.
The Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB) is the highest level external advisory board in the Department of Energy and reports directly to the Secretary of Energy.
