Durka was a legendary Peacekeeper captain in command of the command carrier "Zelbinion". His most famed accomplishments were the liberation of Mintaka III and the quelling the Senovion rebellion. Many of his tactics are required learning during Peacekeeper training. Peacekeepers are a militaristic organization in the Farscape universe. ... Command carriers are the capital ships of the Peacekeeper fleet in the fictional Farscape universe. ... Unknown to most Peacekeepers, Durka was in fact a violent, conniving, cowardly sadist, who took great pleasure in torturing helples prisoners in his custody. One such prisoner was Dominar Rygel XVI, who later found himself onboard Moya at the start of the TV series. Flogging demonstration at Folsom Street Fair 2004. ... During a Peacekeeper invation of the Nebari sector, over 100 cycles (years) prior to the events covered by the TV series, the "Zelbinion" was crippled and boarded by the Nebari. The cew refused to surrender to Nebari mind cleansing and were all killed, and Durka was presumed killed in action. Later it is however revealed that Durka had survived. He had faked his own death by murdering a junior officer, and fleeing the "Zelbinion" in an escape pod. He was however captured by the Nebari and spent the next 100 cycles (years) in stasis being mind cleansed into a obedient, pacifistic servant of the Nebari Establishment. The Nebari are a fictional alien race in the Farscape universe. ...


When Durka and his Nebari master later encountered the crew of Moya, he was recognised by Rygel who promptly tried to kill him with a makeshift bomb. However the explotion only succeeded in somehow negating the mind cleansing, and Durka was returned to his old violent self. In short order, he murdered his Nebari keeper and hijacked Moya, but the cew eventually succeeded in luring him into a trap. While he was powering up the weapons on the crippled Nebari ship he had arived on, it was jetisoned into space, leaving him stranded onboard the derelict vessel.


About a cycle (year) later, Rygel discovered that Durka survied their last encounter and was then the head of the Zenetian pirates with which he was trying to negotiate. Durka tried to kill Rygel, but Rygel came prepared for his treachery and killed Durka instead. For the next few days, Rygel carried Durka's severed head around on a stake, as a trophy of his final victory over the man who tortured him for so long.

It was Durka who had tortured Rygel for many cycles aboard the Command Carrier Zelbinion.
Recalling the cycles of torture he suffered at Durka's hands, Rygel could not contain his anger and attempted to kill the Peacekeeper with a crude explosive device.
Before long, Durka had captured Aeryn and Rygel, bypassed all of my synaptic junctions and placed himself in control of most of Moya's systems.

Durka, in an attempt to escape, killed a junior officer, dressed said officer in his uniform in hopes the Nebari would believe he had committed suicide while he jumped ship.
Durka, determined to regain his former glory attempts to overtake Moya, but is ultimately thwarted, thanks, in part, to Chiana, who pretends to be on his side and lures him into a trap.
Durka, scarred from their last encounter makes an attempt on Rygel's life, but Rygel, prepared for such eventuallities, strikes back and kills Durka.
