The School has recently gone under renovations, including a new building (Speirs), a laptop program (ACCESS), as well renovations to the dining hall and an underground gymnasium.

The Housing process is divided into four houses. Lucas House (yellow), Macaulay House (red), Speirs House (blue) and the Wanstall House (green).

The school was recently involved in a controversy in which former teachers at the school were accused of molesting students. Scandal hit the school in September 2005, when a former student launched a lawsuit claiming that he had been sexually abused by a former teacher, Leigh Seville, during the 1970s. Allegations regarding misconduct were first made in 1991, and the school administration confronted Seville. Soon after, he committed suicide and no further action on the issue was taken by the school administration. William Mitchell, current Headmaster, was headmaster in 1991 when the allegations against Seville first surfaced. Despite these allegations, Selwyn House remains among the top private schools in Quebec.

A similar scandal hit the school on February 3rd 2006.

He re-entered the house as a nationalist candidate in 1930, and was minister for mines and railways in the Mitchell government until 1933.
His health compelled his frequent absence from debates, but he was still a power in the house, and his speech against the proposal of the Peacock (q.v.) government that there should be a convention to consider the reform of the Victorian parliament, was largely responsible for it being laid aside.
He was educated at schools at Ickham and Wingham, and also had private tuition from the Rev. Mr Midgley, M.A. He went to Sydney in 1883 for health reasons, and in 1884 obtained a semi-scientific position on the staff of the Sydney technological museum.
