Holy Week (Sp. Semana Santa) processions are Christian religious ceremonies traditionally held in several Catholic countries. They consist in the marching of cofradías and hermandades, and the displaying of pasos, elaborate sculptures depicting the most important events in the life of Jesus from the day he arrived in Jerusalem until his resurrection as told by the Bible.
