Senior College Dún Laoghaire(SCD) - College of Further Education was established in 1982 under the statutory authority of the Dún Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee. The college developed rapidly and was soon providing Accounting, Marketing, Business, Beautician, Multimedia and Interior Design courses for full-time and part-time students. The College is only engaged in further education and has no second level courses or classes. The college provides awards at FETAC Levels 5 and 6. The Further Education and Training Awards Council is the authority that grants extra-university further education awards in Ireland, these awards have not yet been finalised but are been so by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland. ...

SCD continues to offer a wide range of professional programmes with professional bodies such as the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, Marketing Institute of Ireland, and CIBTAC to name but a few.
