The Seoul dialect is the basis of the standard dialect of Korean in South Korea. It is spoken in the Capital Metropolitan Area, which includes Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi. A standard language (also standard dialect or standardized dialect) is a particular variety of a language that has been given either legal or quasi-legal status. ... The Capital Metropolitan Area is a region located at the center of the Korean peninsula and is home to the capital of South Korea, Seoul. ... The postpositions -ro "to" and -go "and" and their derivatives tend to be pronounced -ru and -gu. Notable differences in vocabulary include the use of busida to mean "to wash up", but this usage is now rare.
