In the United States and Canada, it refers to a filling station that also offers such services as oil change and mechanical repairs to automobiles.
In the United Kingdom, it refers to much larger facilities, usually attached to motorways or major trunk routes, which provide food outlets, large parking areas, and shops — see Motorway service area (UK).
Service Station usually sell gasoline, diesel and related products that various from country to country. Some countries require stations to sell Gasohol, auto LPG. Stations in other countries may sell kerosene for heating and cooking as well.
