Seven Churches was Possessed's debut album, released in 1985 through Combat. It is widely regarded as the first death metal album. In Revelation 1:13 we see Christ in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, that is the seven churches, and in the letters we find out what he observed as he walks among the seven churches.
