Shahid Beheshti University is a university located in north of Tehran.


It was founded in January, 1960 by Farah Pahlavi, the then Queen of imperial Iran, before the Islamic Revolution took place. It is currently headed by Dr. Nadimi.

The school was founded in 1960 as part of Shahid Beheshti University, and was re-structured in 1986 when it separated off onto its own.
Apart from its teaching and research commitments, the university is also responsible for health care provision to a community of four million people living in northern and northeastern Tehran and the neighbouring cities of Damavand, Firouzkooh, Varamin and Pakdasht.
