Shakespear's Sister was a band consisting of Siobhan Fahey (formerly of Bananarama) and Marcella Detroit. The band formed in 1988, the same year that Fahey left Bananarama. They split up in 1993, and Fahey admitted herself into a psychiatric unit with severe depression. Co-written by Fahey, her ex-husband David A. Stewart and members of Fahey's new backing band, #3 was produced by Fahey, Stewart, Hormonally Yours-producer Alan Moulder, Andy Wright and Flood throughout 1995, 1996 and 1997.
Upon renewed interest in Shakespear's Sister material, a CD/DVD greatest hits package was released by London Records later the same year.
