Reared in Oakville, Ontario, Stipich attended White Oaks Secondary School, where he wrestled at a High School level. In his graduating year, he won the Top Athlete Award. He later trained as a professional wrestler under Dory Funk, Jr. and debuted in 1996 as Shawn Stasiak in the Pacific Coast Championship Wrestling promotion. Stasiak soon got a WWF development deal and was sent to Power Pro Wrestling, where he stayed until he was called up to the WWF to wrestle as Meat, the boy-toy for the "Pretty Mean Sisters" of Terri Runnels, Jacqueline, and Ryan Shamrock (who left WWF after a few months). He made his WWF debut on the April 18, 1999 episode of Sunday Night HEAT, to attack Tiger Ali-Singh. Shawn Stasiak went to WCW in 2000, where he got his biggest push in his career. Stasiak debuted on the April 10, 2000 episode of Nitro, attacking Curt Hennig. He later joined the "New Blood" Faction and feuded with Curt Hennig. He was called the "Perfect One" and, later, "PerfectShawn" Stasiak in a ripoff of Hennig's "Mr. Perfect" gimmick. Stasiak picked up two victories over Curt Hennig including Stasiak's WCW Pay-per-view Debut on May 7, 2000 at Slamboree before Hennig became impressed with Stasiak and briefly coached Stasiak before Curt's WCW contract expired in June 2000. Return to WWF / The Alliance

Shawn Stasiak returned to the WWF in July 2001 as part of the Alliance after WCW was bought by the WWF. Stasiak won at WWF InVasion where he, Chris Kanyon, and Hugh Morrus defeated The Big Show, Billy Gunn, and Albert. Through August he was made out to be clumsy trying to impress the Alliance leader Steve Austin. Every time he tried attacking big WWF superstars such as The Rock or Kurt Angle he would run into a wall, statue, milk truck, or just completely miss and trip over his boots. In late August, Stasiak was also briefly paired with Stacy Keibler again, but she stopped being his valet in late September to manage the Dudley Boyz. He was injured soon after and was out of action until late October, returning as a jobber still. On November 18 at Survivor Series 2001, Stasiak lost his job (in kayfabe) along with all of the Alliance members, as the story went, when Team WWF defeated Team Alliance. However, the Alliance members still worked house shows and dark matches for a while until being ready to be called up to the main active roster, but Stasiak was injured in late November and it required surgery on his knee to remove his bursa sac but was cleared to wrestle January 1, 2002. Stasiak has claimed that his career in wrestling is not over, as he already helped film a documentary on wrestling, and, perhaps, in a few months, we may see him wrestling on TV again.

Stasiak fought hard, brawling with G.I. Bro up and down the aisleway, but was usually on the defensive, until Palumbo came down to help out, leading to a double-team.
Still, Stasiak remained one of the "shock troops" for the WCW team, and was part of the WCW contingent that betrayed the WWF and united with the ECW wrestlers, forming a strong force of invaders.
