"She's Out of My Life" was the fourth single to be released by singer Michael Jackson from his hugely-successful album, Off the Wall in 1980. Unlike the three previous singles, which were all dance-oriented funk/disco songs, this song was an understated emotional ballad, written by Tom Bahler. Jackson's vocals on this record were judged some of his best. A crucial moment in the song happened when Jackson, near the end of the song, began to break down in the studio and sang the word "life" with a breaking voice as he sobbed and moaned at the end. Some say it may have been a break up with his rumored girlfriend Tatum O'Neal. The song was one of the stand-out moments of Jackson's tours for the next fifteen years. It was covered more than twenty-five years later by soul singer Patti LaBelle for her album Classic Moments in 2005. Image File history File links Mjsooml. ...
