  • Spike Lee came up with the title from watching XFL football. A player named Rod Smart gained some notoriety by nicknaming himself He Hate Me; the main character references Smart when explaining why he has decided to nickname his ex-fiancée "She Hate Me".
  • John Henry "Jack"'s name alludes to the legend of John Henry, where the man worked hard against his opponent (the steel driving machine) and won, but soon after dies of heart failure. This symbolizes the Black man's plight against racism, classism and oppression by actively working to better himself and when he "achieves" this goal, he dies.
  • Raul Midon sang the theme song for the movie, "Adam 'N' Eve 'N' Eve". Also, Armstrong's brother disapproved of his impregnating lesbians and used the phrase "Adam 'N' Eve 'N' Eve", too.
  • Actor Isiah Whitlock Jr. appears in the film as Agent Amos Flood, the same exact role he played in the Spike Lee film 25th Hour but the movies are not sequels and are completely different in style.
  • This was the last film featuring Ossie Davis, as he died in February 2005.
  • Some real human births are seen with accompanying graphic nudity and related bodily fluids. A live human birth is also portrayed in another Spike Lee film, Mo' Better Blues.
  • Jack Armstrong is shown wearing a baseball shirt that simply reads "1918." This is a reference to the last year the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. The Red Sox are the long-time rivals of the New York Yankees; Lee is a well-known fan of the Yankees.
  • German Actor David Bennent re-appears after a long film career absence, and portrays the German scientist who 'jumps' to his end and creates one of the best, most bittersweet moments of the film. He will long be remembered as the all-observing little Oskar in V.Schloendorf's nazi-era drama 'the Tin Drum'.

Kids.net.au - Encyclopedia Hate crime - (861 words)
A hate crime ( bias crime), loosely defined, is a crime committed because of the perpetrator's prejudices.
Hate crime legislation extends this principle by including personal prejudice among the states of mind that can result in an extension of punishment for a criminal action.
While the hate crime definition used by the FBI for purposes of crime statistics includes sexual orientation, disability and gender as protected categories, this is not the case for all hate crime laws.
Hate sites - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (453 words)
Because the definition of what constitutes hatred varies from person to person, and claims of hate mongering are seen by some as merely being political tactics employed by activist groups to smear or attack their political opponents, there are obvious dangers involved in any attempt to reduce or eliminate hate sites through the law.
The danger revolves not only around the differences of opinion over what constitutes hate, but around the supposed right of individuals to express their own thoughts or feelings, even if they are not popular, or if they include criticisms that some believe express and promote hatred.
In practice, a ban on hate sites could cause a situation in which a political entity successfully defines its opponents' point of view or accusations as hatred, and gain oppressive and undemocratic powers to suppress and even criminalize free speech and real debate over an issue.
