After putting an end to his successful webcomic It's Walky! David Willis decided to turn Shortpacked!, his autobiographical comic, into a new title. The strip is based in the same universe as It's Walky and Roomies, and features two side characters from the previous comic, Robin and Mike. Unlike It's Walky!, Shortpacked is primarily a gag strip, with little overarching plot - a fact that that is humorously referenced in the recent 'Drama Tag' storyline. The comic also often includes strips that take place outside of the regular setting and continuity, in particular one-shots lampooning pop-culture and comic figures, such Batman or Transformers. Its Walky! was a daily webcomic by David Willis. ...

Characters - Ethan (lead character): A failed stand-up comedian, Ethan has settled for working retail. Amazingly, retail has not broken him yet. He still has a bright shimmer of hope for the future and his fellow man. He has often had random stints of depression caused by the behavior and stupidity of those around him. Ethan's greatest source of comfort has been his love for toys, primarily Batman and Transformers. A long standing plot point (and source of frustration for Robin) had been whether or not Ethan was homosexual. Recently, after comparing a kiss from Robin to one from Mike, Ethan had an epiphany that he was indeed gay[2]. Despite his recent homosexuality, Glasso still expects Ethan and Conquest to give him an heir and treats Ethan as such.
- Galasso (the boss): The Megalomanic boss of the store, Glasso is often portrayed much like Ra's Al Ghul from Batman comics. He treats the toystore and its workers more like soldiers and believes he will shortly take over the world. In similar fashion with Ra's Al Ghul, Galasso has grown fearful of his 'Empire' failing, should anything happen to him, and thus has begun his search to find a suitor for his daughter Conquest, so that they may create an heir. After rapid examination of his employees (who Glasso rejected on the grounds of being sub-par or female), he chose Ethan. Unfortunately his hope for an heir might be underminded by the fact that Ethan recently realized he was gay, and Conquest has been taking birth control pills.
- Amber: Slightly sociophobic yet caring, Amber is the wallflower of the group. She works at customer service desk, where often she shows to have a rather sharp wit when dealing with customers. Shortly after Robin was introduced, Amber became her roommate, though not by choice. She has, for about ten years, had an online relationship with a boy in Iowa named Nate, who she has recently met in real life. Amber has also be forced to play mediator between Ethan and Robin, who have recently had some problems in their friendship.
- Robin: Hyperactive with few boundaries, Robin was a former agent of SEMME, who grew tired of all the work and responsiblity and quit for "a brainless retail job". After forcefully moving in with Amber, she was responsible for pulling the 'Drama Tag' which has had suprising results of her fellow workers and herself. She has had a crush on Ethan, whom many believed was gay. Unable to believe that, she made numerous "subtle" attempts to get his attention, but each attempt failed. Later when Ethan slept with Conquest, she let slip that he was 'supposed to be gay' at which point Ethan realized that he was. During a sugar rush induced by a bowl-full of Cadbury Eggs, Robin was elected as her state's Congress Representative. She still retains this seat, but does not do any work related to it.
- Mike: In a word, asshole. In more words, a total and complete asshole. As such Mike enjoys doing everything he can to infuriate those around him, no matter the reason. Though he is not above helping other people, he often does so in the meanest, nastiest way possible and it is most likely his 'aid' will later lead to some sort of styfe for them later on. Former agent of SEMME, apparently resurrected after being killed at the end of It's Walky! It appears that due to his past 'life' and work with Robin, he is willing to do everything he can to infuriate her, even going so far as to kiss Ethan for no reason other than to help him decide his sexuality and to see the infuriated look on Robin's face.
- Ninja Rick: He loves ninjas with every part of his body. Especially his pee-pee. He is a character seemingly there for comic relief. This is demonstrated when Robin is being introduced to the rest of the cast, where Robin questions if Rick knows ninjas are played out. There has been question of Rick's sexuality, as in one story he was shown to be sleeping with Faz, who wished to become gay so that he could take Ethan's job. There is no other evidence to suggest that he may indeed be bisexual. He may even be straight, and just dedicated to the ninja way, assuming ninjas are all into homosexuality in relation to how some Asian cultures supported the idea of warriors taking on male lovers.
- Ronnie: 40th President of the United States of America. Galasso somehow brought back and hired his 1980s self after Ethan noted that anything from the 80s is guaranteed to generate money.
- Faz: In his first appearances he was a seasonal employee who sought to replace Ethan, but was later promoted to a full-fledged employee. A sycophant and sociopath, disturbingly attracted to Amber. Much to Faz's annoyance, Ethan has over-shot him on the ladder of success, after being promoted to assistant manager. This has resulted in Faz looking for Ethan's weakness so that he may destroy him at a later date.
- Conquest: Galasso's alluring daughter, named after his favorite pastime. Goes by "Conni". She looks and speaks like a blonde Talia Al Ghul. It is as of yet unknown who would ever mate with Glasso. All anyone is sure of (or cares about) is that whatever happened, it was a legal number of years ago. She is apparently 'betrothed' to Ethan, after Glasso demanded that one of his employees help him gain an heir. Oddly enough, Ethan has realized that he is gay, though apparently still retains his 'promotion' and 'betrothed' relationship with Connie, which could mean that Glasso is unaware of this epiphany or simply does not care, so long as he recieves a suitable heir.
- Nathan: Amber's boyfriend of several years, who is more or less a male version of her, sharing her introversion and quiet nature. At the moment, his apartment is shared with a girl he was fond of in High School, who recently divorced and found herself out of home. This indirectly led Amber to finally visit him, to a reasonable ammount of success.
- The Hot Wheels Guy: Universally hated by Shortpacked staff due to his inability to be helped in his search for the Hot Wheels toy he wants.
