It tends to refer to the agents, managers, production and distribution companies that are in the business of entertainment; it can also include the artists and performers involved. It applies to all aspects of live 'shows', from cinema to television to theater to music.

For any reason whatsoever and for any reason beyond the control of the Chamber the show is not held, the Chamber may retain as much of the money, paid by exhibitor, as is necessary to pay expenses incurred by the Chamber.
