Shulamith Firestone (1945, also called Shulie Firestone) was a founding member of the Chicago Women's Liberation Union in 1969, and was a member of Redstockings and the New York Radical Feminists. In 1970, she authored The Dialectic of Sex: A Case for Feminist Revolution in which she stated that women must seize the means of reproduction.
