Encyclopedia > Shut up

Shut Up is a phrase invented in the early 12th century by Judist Monks. The phrase literally instructed students to "shut" doors which were "up" (as in above) the students' heads, being the doors to the attic of the Most Holy Sanctum Derelicte of Our Most Blessed Holy Sacred Father of Mercy, Grace, and Plentitude St. Judi Monastery.

Shut Up is generally revered and respected in society, despite its rather unsavory past. It can generally be assumed that no matter where you are, Shut Up is always a good option in the field of "things you can, should, and WILL (under penalty of ridicule) say to people at any time or place". In fact, NOT saying Shut Up, which is not rude or unacceptible in ANY situation, is considered a crime in 18 of the United Nations sanctioned countries.
