The Sihl is a river of Switzerland. It rises at Drusberg in the Canton of Schwyz. Bei Einsiedeln durchfliesst die Sihl den Sihlsee, einen 1937 zur Energiegewinnung angelegten Stausee, der mit einer Oberfläche von 11 km² der grösste Stausee der Schweiz ist.
Ab Sihlbrugg fliesst die Sihl durch das Zürcher Sihltal, einem Tal zwischen Albis und Zimmerberg, stets begleitet von der Sihltalbahn.
Danach durchquert die Sihl Adliswil und erreicht bei Leimbach die Stadt Zürich.
