In 1939 the Praneat Silpakam School was founded by Mom Luang Pin Malagula. Four years later it was promoted to a university. In 1968 the Thai Education Ministry granted a proposal to extend the university, which led to the establishment of the Sanam Chan campus in Nakhon Pathom.
