The Singapore Sailing Federation (Abbreviation: SSF), also known as SingaporeSailing, is the national sports association responsible for the management and organisation of the sport of sailing in Singapore. With affiliations to organisations such as the Singapore National Olympic Council and the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), it has Ng Ser Miang as its patron, and is currently headed by Low Teo Ping. Its place of business is currently located at the National Sailing Centre, along East Coast Parkway. Abbreviation (from Latin brevis short) is strictly a shorter form of a word, but more particularly, an abbreviation is a letter or group of letters, taken from a word or words, and employed to represent them for the sake of brevity. ... Objectives

The main objectives of the federation is:

  • To promote and sponsor the sport of sailing in Singapore.
  • To administer matters relating to the sport of sailing, acting as the National Authority under the International Sailing Federation rules, and in doing so, safeguard the interests of the sport.
  • To arrange and manage sailing competitions at local, regional and international levels, establish the conditions of such competitions and to give or contribute towards prizes and awards.
  • To select sailors to represent the Republic of Singapore in national, regional and international competitions, providing sponsorship if necessary.
  • To own, lease, sub-lease and operate facilities necessary for all or any of the objects of the Federation.
