The Six Gosvamis of Vrindavan consist of; the brothers Sanatana Gosvami and Rupa Gosvami, their nephew Jiva Gosvami, Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Raghunatha dasa Gosvami and Gopala Bhatta Gosvami. They all studied Vaishnava Theology and were prominent Gaudiya Vaishnavaacharyas and close followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He sent them to Vrindavana (Vrindavan) with instruction to recover the holy places connected to Krishna-lila, build temples and write scriptures.
