History

Star Fox

In the first game, Slippy is seemingly the greenhorn of the team, since he is the least skilled pilot. The fact that he constantly wears a baseball cap, a choker, and stammers also adds to this. While this game did not have any real voice work, a stylized "chatter" accompanied all characters' messages. Slippy's chatter was fairly deep, and suggested a large, fat character but it would appear that he is smaller than he sounds. A baseball cap worn with the bill at the front, shading the eyes A baseball cap is a type of soft cap with a long, stiffened and curved peak and it is worn by men, women and children. ...

Star Fox 64

In Star Fox 64 (also released as Lylat Wars), Slippy takes the role of the team's mechanic, analyzing the bosses and building vehicles such as the Landmaster (tank) and the Blue Marine (submarine). He continues to be a pilot as well. It is also noticeable that he speaks in a high-pitched and childish voice which contrasts the deep-voiced character of the previous game and portrays him as an inexperienced and innocent character. This is also when Slippy becomes more childish and begins to stammer more. He's also the one who seems to get in the most trouble. Star Fox Adventures

Slippy begins inventing things to help on Fox's journey instead of piloting an Arwing. The binoculars that he sent down wind up in Shabunga's Store and he also sends Fox a SharpClaw disguise. Peppy Hare is a fictional anthropomorphic hare from the Star Fox series of video games. ...

Star Fox: Assault

Slippy continues to pilot an Arwing and analyzes the boss, allowing one to see their life gauges. He frequently gets into trouble during missions. If one fails to save him, he will not be able to display the health of the level's boss. It should be noted that he has apparently aged enough to drop the much-ridiculed voice he had in Star Fox 64. Slippy also appears to be the brains since he was the first one to see through the Aparoid Queen's voice imitations. In VS. Mode, Slippy is a high-skilled character. He is also the only character to have a full five stars for Landmaster skills in his Character Abilities.

Star Fox Command

In Star Fox Command, Slippy falls for a female frog named Amanda, and proposes to her a month before the game begins. Because of this, he devotes most of his time to his newfound relationship rather than Star Fox. In several missions, however, the player has the choice of getting Slippy's help for the stage. His customized Arwing, the Bullfrog, comes equipped with Plasma Lasers (similar to the traditional Twin Lasers powerup, only packing more of a punch), a capacity to hold three Bombs, high shielding and mid-low boost/barrel roll capabilities. The only real downsides to the Bullfrog are the lack of a lock-on feature and low maneuverability compared to other vehicles, like Fox McCloud's Arwing II and Falco Lombardi's Sky Claw. Trivia

  • During the gap between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Adventures, Slippy briefly worked for Cornerian weapons R&D where he invented many spacecraft, weapons and gadgets for the Cornerian forces.
  • In the games Slippy is the one who needs help to deal with enemy aerial pursuit the most. He also is the first one to need help in every game (excluding Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Command, in which the player is always flying solo). However, he seems more skilled at ground warfare, effectively clearing a small area in Assault's third mission, where he was on foot and eventually left in charge to take control of the remaining area as Fox goes to help Falco and Krystal fight Star Wolf.
  • Slippy makes several cameos in Super Smash Bros. Melee: he appears as a trophy, appears in a cutscene in Adventure Mode (after Fox is defeated), if Fox or Falco press left and right on the control pad on Venom or Corneria, they will receive a transmission from the other three members of Star Fox. Finally, an Event Match is called "Slippy's Invention", in which he makes Fox and Falco invisible. In the game, he was voiced by Chris Seavor.
