In January 2006, Lifeson and Lee convened in a home studio in Toronto and began the writing process through unfocused jamming, while Peart wrote preliminary lyrics while in California. Peart has stated the lyrical theme of the album will be based on his personal reflections on faith, inspired by his many motorcycle journeys through the United States. In March, all three came together in Quebec and listened to rough recordings of the six songs they had written so far. Pleased by what they heard, they decided to polish them in a small studio in Toronto later in May with additional songs to follow in September. According to the band, a total of eleven songs had been written at this point, including an instrumental piece. Completion of the final mix is projected for early 2007.[3] Foo Fighters are a rock group formed by musician Dave Grohl in 1995. ...
