Mining

New Britania Mine, which has recently closed, and HudBay Mining and Smelting are Snow Lakes major industries. New Britania, recently closed, employed the majority of the towns population, which is reason for the towns sudden drop of population. HudBay Mining and Smelting employs the other majority of the towns population. This mine is still currently in operation.


Tourism

Snow Lake was built on the shores of Snow Lake, hence its name. This lake is used during the summer months for swimming, boating, fishing, and other watersports. In the winter it is a popular place to snowmobile and fish on.


In the summer months people also come to Snow Lake to see the parks that surround the area, and the many other attractions that Snow Lake has to offer, such as the Mining Museum, the lake, the curling and skating rink, and much, much more.


Education

Snow Lake has one K-12 school. Joseph H. Kerr School, is a Frontier School Division school. It has been open for over 30 years, and has about 150 students.
