Princess Soamsavali Kitiyakara


Born on 13 July 1957 (B.E.2500) at Guy's Hospital in London, England, United Kingdom, HRH Princess Soamsavali Kitiyakara is the eldest child of Mom Rajawongse Adulkit Kitiyakara and HSH Princess Bandhu Savali Yugala. By virtue of the Royal Proclamation of His Majesty the King on 12 August 1991 (B.E.2534), her official full name became "HRH Princess Soamsavali Phravararajatinuddamatu." The graceful perseverance of HRH Princess Soamsavali in shouldering the burdens of Their Majesties the King and Queen, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and HRH Princess Chulaborn Valayalaksana, can be obviously witnessed in her successfully performing many royals functions on their behalf.

He was given the title Somdech Phra Boroma Orasadhiraj Chao Fah Maha Vajiralongkorn Sayam Makutrajakuman by the King on 28th December 1972, making him the Crown Prince and heir to the throne (the suffix Sayam Makutrajakuman in his title is the official title for the Crown Prince in Thailand).
On January 3, 1977 Vajiralongkorn married HRH Princess Soamsavali Kitiyakara (born 1957), a cousin on his mother's side.
The marriage ended in divorce in the 1980s, and Vajiralongkorn lived for some years with a common law wife, Yuvadhida Polpraserth, with whom he had four sons and a daughter.
